This letter is to convey the results for the ChemStar StarTac 600 product that was evaluated in the Soil Erosion Research Laboratory at San Diego State University. ChemStar StarTac 600 was applied according to manufacturer’s specifications at a rate of 250 lbs/acre at a 1% solution using a pneumatic sprayer. The testing method used was ASTM D-6459 Standard Test Method for Determination of Erosion Control Blanket Performance in Protecting Hillslopes from Rainfall- Induced Erosion. The test was reproduced in triplicate using sandy loam soil, a 2H:1V slope and an erodible surface 2-m wide by 8-m long. The 60 minute design storm consisted of three consecutive periods with rainfall rates of 2, 4 and 6 inches/hour for 20 minutes each.
